The FAFSA can be completed online or through paper application. The Cal Grant GPA Verification Application is only accepted if certified by a school electronically or through the GPA verification paper application. Students that complete the paper application must make sure to give to their school to complete. Once the school official completes the “For School Use Only” section, mail the form to the address listed at the bottom of the GPA form. The paper GPA Verification form must be postmarked no later than March 2, 2012. Students that plan to mail in a paper GPA Verification form should make a copy of their GPA Verification Form, and purchase a certificate of mailing from the post office as proof of timely submission.
Once both the FAFSA and GPA Verification Application have been completed then a student can log into their account to check their Cal Grant Application status. Any change in status is made in real-time and can be view immediately by students that are logged into their account. It’s important that both FAFSA and GPA Verification Application are submitted in a timely manner or your Cal Grant Status will remain as incomplete. Students with an incomplete status will not me eligible to receive a Cal Grant until all forms are submitted and completed correctly.
